Niiby Labs

A software company.

Niiby Labs is a new company, formed to build Workybara. Before starting it I spent my career in games. Most recently I was COO of Playsaurus, the studio behind Clicker Heroes and the publisher of Cookie Clicker on Steam and consoles, both played by millions of players. Before that I worked there as a developer, product manager and community manager.

I moved to hiring because of one problem in particular. Matching people by the skills they actually have means knowing what they have actually done, in detail. That is a lot to ask of someone. Nobody enjoys filling in a work history, so most hiring products treat it as a form to be endured and then quietly settle for whatever thin profile they get.

Games are unusually good at making effort feel worth it, turning the kind of input most software treats as a chore into something people want to finish. Applying that to the part of job hunting everyone skips is the bet this company is built on. The measure of success is not time spent here, it is how quickly someone finds work that actually fits.

What I am building

Workybara

A job search engine that indexes roles from across the web and matches them to people by the skills they actually have, rather than by keyword overlap with a job title. It currently tracks over a million active roles and is in closed beta.
